reliable sources

I believe that the internet can be a very unreliable source because it can be made by anyone. people dont realise that most of the information on the internet is made up Gobbledygook which will get you no where. the most reliable source of information i feel is text books because these are mostly written by known sources of information and are supposed to be used to learn and teach people things.

digital divide

The least digitally developed countries according to the ITU are Guinea Biseau, Chad, Mali, Burkino Fass, and Niger.

These countries are third world countries which do not get much electricity and do not have gadgets or any technology we have.

These countires are very poor and cannot afford to spend money on making themselves up to date with technology.

they also have very small population, and can survive without needing to use technology so there is no need to have it.

society and the individual

We need society in our lives, without it we would find it difficult to live, but we don't need society all the time, society helps people in need and not everyone is in need all the time. if society looked after us constantly it would begin to control everything we do and individuality would not exist as everyone would be doing the same thing.

Monitoring internet and email use

in an estate agents there are many advantages in being able to moniter your emplyees, you can see how much emplyees are speding of company money and if they are doing anything illegal to do with the company, the company can see if they are doing what they should be doing and not playing games, they can also most importantly see if they are trading any private information about the company to other people.
i think that this is an invasion of privacy and that people should nto be able to read other people emails as they can hold private things and sometimes passwords and user names for websites, this means that if someone gets hold of this information they could use the information to access people websites and websites they have signed up to.

GPS tracking system

Parents are able to track there children when they are driving around, they can see where they are going and what speed they are going at, this ensures that the parent can always know where the teen driver is and means that they can always find them. they can warn them if they are going too fast or they can punish them for going too fast.
The problem i see with this is that it is taking away the teenagers privacy. Teenagers do not want their parents looking over them the whole time they are driving. A good thing is that it could make the teenagers drive better and cause less accidents, teenagers will not mess about whilst they are driving if they are being watched.

US Passports RFID

RFID are Radio Frequency ID chips. America is planning to place them into american passports so that when they are at airports customs can scan their passports from a near distance using special radio recievers.
However there is a problem that might occur, if customs are scanign the cards they will be able to see a lot of information about the persons identity. this could spark up a lot of crime as people might be able to get the technology that the custom officers use and could steal information from peoples passports.

Pro's and con's of ID cards

The UK ID cards run off of database files. This stores all the fingerprint ID's of all UK citizens. This is just incase a person loses their ID card.

The ID card is used to provide information about the card holder, eg. criminal record, exam grades and other things. It will provide an easy way of locating people and will help identifying people.

it is a good idea but not everyone will want to have all there information on a card which they could lose and they do not want there information on a database which could be hacked.
